I love it. Nor’easters brings waves. I do work in retail and when it rains business is usually slower, which is never good. It is hard to get out of bed because the sky stays dark, it’s windy and cold. Always the perfect days for movies in sweats and a fire. As much as that sounds cozy, the ocean takes over. Waves are mandatory in a Nor’easter. You have to deal with currents most of the time, but that is just all apart of the workout. I hate the gym so I don’t mind it at all. There are…

After meeting once and getting a couple photos we met again on some better conditions all around. It was still small and I wasn’t planning on surfing, but Joe hooked up the call and said there was fun little surf. This time the sun was out which is always a plus for the photographer. Even at my age I still like to get out as much as possible. I do work a lot which can slow me down, but if it is ridable I am usually still out there. For Joe to power through our small sessions makes it…

Joe Reighn is a 16 year old Junior at Ocean City High School. Much talent has attended the school throughout the years in surfing. Joe is going a different path in the industry as a photographer. At such a young age Joe has been around shooting photos for a couple years in and out of the water. As a student its hard to get to travel and get those misto days to get those epic photos. I recently caught up with Joe on a small fun day with Andrew Gesler to see what we could get. The more…

I have had a couple T. Patterson’s before and loved them. I always give other shapers a chance because I like to try new stuff. I recently just got a new TP for a good price and O’BOY. Ha, it’s sick. I will know just ride Patterson’s. It is so responsive and gives me the confidence to go out and have a good session every time in the water. It’s funny because as I sell boards people have not really heard of him. So I guess in Jersey he is kinda underground. I can’t help but tell customers he…

Nothing better than living by the beach and being able to go for s surf immediately when it turns on. I started my day as usual going to work and hearing about surf reports all day. Today was hard northeast all morning looking like it was going to rain. I got off at 4 and noticed the wind had died down and the sun was out. I biked up to the boardwalk and saw that it was slightly offshore with a little north wind. Big enough for Ocean City’s north swell spots to break. YEOW!! I paddled out while…

So I admit, I am a Surfline junky. Your welcome surfline. I wake up on occasion pretty early to go surf. The first thing I do is check the waves on the cams. I will make a decision from them. Even though I am only a mile from the beach I still turn to the cams. Its close to my bed for those shitty calls from the night before. Anyway, this I did just this and ended up going back to bed. I am up now getting for work, but of course scoping out the Surfline scene before any…

SO we have it. The first hurricane of the season. Nice to have it early with warm waters, but to have to get out at 9:30 because of lifeguards sucked. AHHHH!! I started my weekend by getting off till today. Amazing. I had 4 days of fun filled surfing with a bunch of bros. I went up to North Jersey friday night with my buddy Scott Drages. We met up with pro surfers Luke Ditella and Tommy Petriken and photographer Rich McMullin. Started off the weekend out with a bang at the Asbury Lanes for some beers and…

It is always a conversation between surfers when a swell is supposed to arrive. I feel they are forecasts passed by one on to another with little changes always adding to the mix. Classic. Swell is on it’s way to New Jersey and I’m very excited for all the forecasts and possible travel destinations. Bring it on!!

. Yes it is only August 13th, but the Philadelphia Eagles are on the field. They lost by a field goal miss by Akers, but whatever. They looked GOOOOD!! Also the Atlantic Ocean is becoming active!!!! Swell is looking to be on its way from potential tropical depression development. Got to love it, waves and football!!! Michael Vick has joined the Eagles just minutes ago. Indeed he made his mistakes, but this guy can play football. I want to be a fan of the Birds and welcome you to the team. As for the waves I am ready…
