Island paradise is in full effect for the boys participating in the filming of Dark Fall. Andrew Gesler, Dean Randazzo, Zack Humphreys, Clay Pollioni, Trevor Moran, Alex Dephillipo, and I arrived the other day and have been greeted with some super fun surf. We are posted up right in the village of Teahupoo, so our location is absolutely amazing. You can wake up and see Teahupoo from the porch. Really sick! We haven’t had any death-defying Teahupoo sessions yet but we did get a chance to get a couple fun barrels out there the other day. A couple feet overhead on the sets and super fun. A good way to kick off the trip. We’ve also had a couple sessions at the ripable right-hander known as Small Pass just up the way from us. Slater sightings have been frequent and a full blown session with him went down yesterday as he continued to pull gravity-defying airs as he works on his IMAX film. He is a freak! But he was also super nice to crew so that was cool. Who knew that Dean and he were boys! Hah, awesome.
While all that has been super insane, I did have one unfortunate incident yesterday. After falling doing an air yesterday, my board hit me in the face fins first underwater (I have no idea how this scenario managed to play out by the way) and one of the fins caught me right in the corner of my mouth. It felt like someone punched me in the face with a fin in their hand. I came up all bloody and quickly realized the corner of my mouth had been ripped to resemble the Joker from Batman. Luckily I didn’t do this in front of Slater – oh wait! Damn it! Haha. I ended up going to a doctor up the road and getting it stitched up to hopefully avoid looking like the Joker permanently. I’m about to declare myself as the most injury prone kid in the world. And the trip’s just starting! No worries though. I’m not letting this keep me down. As long as I take care of the wound and avoid infection I will be straight. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for swell over the next two weeks and will hopefully return with the goods. Check back for more updates to come.

"Work"

It feels as awesome as it looks

"Hey Doc, jam that needle right into the center of the wound, will ya?" I've got a feeling this won't be the last time this doctor sees me over the next two weeks

It always amazes me how Jamie finds himself in a predictament where he gets hurt with bloody consequences. I am glad that it wasn’t worse. Hopefully the next few days will be fun and damage free for everyone.
that looks excruciating jamie, but atleast you can still surf right?! stay safe duders looking forward to seeing this film for sure!

Miss Cindy – funny how it’s always happening to the same son…I think we have found the problem.
