Caribbean Relapse

Written By Carmen Vicari on March 25th, 2010 with 3 Comments.

Being home for me really puts a whole new perspective on things. Like why I’m not in the Caribbean right now. I ended up going through one of my hard drives the other night and came across a trip I was on in December with Dylan shooting for his innersection part. In case you’ve been living under a rock, D took third.

Here’s everything that never made it into that section.
Also featuring : Alejandro Moreda, Gaby Escudero, and The Geiselmen Brothers.

I don’t know what his deal is, but when I was staying in Melbourne with Alek last week, the curly haired freak woke me up at 7 am just to tell me Miami was flat. Ok, rad. 2 hours later he comes barging into my lovely room filled with boxes of stuff only to tell me theres waves down south now. Now I’m not the greatest forecaster in the world but when it blows hard off shore all night, how does that make waves?

In a video done for ESPN. “Hurricane Chaser” explains how these swells work.

California Adventure.

New Jersey to Florida. Florida to the Caribbean. Caribbean to Florida. Florida to California. California to Chicago. Chicago to Philadelphia. In a nut shell, this has been my life for the past month and a half. To some living out of a suitcase might not be your ideal life but when Alek Parker asked me to tag along for a new video project we have been talking about since October, I knew it was going to be big. After scoring in the Caribbean we ventured back to Florida for what I thought was going to be a week of…

South Beach

It has been the craziest month of traveling for me. Between heading down to the Caribbean, cruising back to Florida, and a last minute trip to California, I feel so exhausted, but it was worth it! The video project me and Alek Parker are working on is shaping up to be more than we could have ever asked for. In between trips we ventured down to South Beach for the day, which is quite an adventure in itself. Old ladies driving Bentleys on the reg, MTV doing shoots right near us on the beach, walking through clubs to get…

Dylan Skullcandy

I think it’s safe to say that I spent pretty much all of this winter down in the Caribbean, not that I’m complaining.  While I was down there for New Years I was fortunate enough stay with Dylan and brother Josie for 2 weeks of pumping surf and crazy nightlife. We scored so much footage it was hard to keep all of it hush until now. The day before it was time for me to depart to Orlando, Dylan approached me with an idea to make a quick webisode for Skull Candy, being that he was just put on….

Picture-161

I was just down in Puerto Rico working on a new project with Alek Parker. Me and him have both been talking for awhile now about working on something together and everything is finally comming together. Our goal for the project is to document the life of a cold front as it brings harsh weather and surf from the West Coast to the East Coast, and the Caribbean.  We plan on showing a very indepth look at these weather systems, and the local surfers of each location that these storms effect the most.
The trip down to Puerto Rico…
