Eastern Promise

California has been home for a good part of my winter, I’ve been spending time with family out here. I’ve been between NJ and CA for a few years now, since I had my daughter, Rory Jaye. I love it out here for more reasons than one, obviously my family is at the top of the list, surfing out here is a daily routine, call that number two. One more reason would be, that being away from home helps you remember why you love the places you miss.  The weather has been pretty good out here, and I’ve been surfing almost every day so I’m not complaining.. But, like I said, there is something about being back in Jerz that puts a smile on my face. An upcoming swell looked to be pretty promising and the weather seemed committed to proving that spring was in full effect, so I booked my flight back east expecting to get some work done. It was good to be home, I caught up with film maker Alex Dephillipo and we got to work on his latest project, Dark Fall. Along with Sam Hammer, Mike Gleason, Matt Keenan, and Clay Pollioni, I surfed a few session and had a blast in fun end of winter surf. It felt good to be back in the cold Atlantic ocean. I finished off the trip with a night out in Atlantic City and flew back to CA after three days. After that quick trip I’m actually looking forward to the three day cross country drive back east before the end of this month.  Check out Surfline.coms coverage of the latest NE swell by clicking the photo below.
