What Surfers Candy is a collaborative project that focuses on sharing surf related content with the world. The Surfers Candy project is a multi-user blog site that utilizes the work of hand selected professional surfers, photographers, and cinematagraphers all in one place. The goal has been to provide and inside look at our contributors' lives and to share all of the stories, photos, and videos that are captured through the contributors' travels.
Who Our contributors are chosen one at a time for their ability to produce quality imagery and stories that keep our viewers feeling they are along for the ride as each contributor follows their surf related career.
Why Primarily becasue we loving surfing and creating things. Additionally, traditional media outlets, such as magazines, often have a lag time between issues and are inherently outdated when they arrive on newstands. Surfers Candy attempts to shorten that lag time by putting the editing capabilities in the hand of those who create the stories and images. Additionally, by allowing individual surfers and photographers to write and contribute on their own, readers are able to get a much better sense of the personalities beheinds the lenses and on the boards.
Things We Have Created
Over the years our collective group has had their hand in countless other successfull projects in an attempt to better ourselves, as well as our surf communities. We have made films, written aritcles for magazines, started non-profit orgnanizations, and coordinated competitions that have gained much recognition and have made us very proud - and we plan on continuing this in the future.
Dark Fall Film
Several Surfers Candy contributors were involved in the filming and production of Dark Fall the Movie - a documentary following the lives of surfers from New Jersey and the hardships they face trying to prove themselves to the outside surf world. Dark Fall is a truly amazing story with cinematagraphy that will keep you glued to the screen as you follow the lives of several unique surfers pushing the limits in both remote parts of the world and in their own backyard.

Magazine Editorials
Print media is still massively important in the surf industry and contributors have made an impact on magazines for years. Our photographers have nailed everything from covers and spreads to editorial galleries and advertisements. Our contirbuting surfers are certainly not strangers to the limelight of magazine coverage either. Numerous covers on Eastern Surf Magazine and double paged spreads in Transworld Surf have assured the world that their hard work does not go unrecognized.
Garden State Grudge Match
In the simplest terms: A seriuosly intense surfing competition. Designed as an all out battle between top professional surfers in New Jersey for bragging rights and thousands of dollars, the Garden State Grudge Match is a man-on-man format that is a test of physical strength and mental fortitude that has each competitor bringing their best surfing to the center stage year after year. A two week waiting period for the proper swell conditions has ensured quality surf each year so far and sets the foundation for a true determination of who really is the best surfer in New Jersey in a given year.
Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation
Dean Randazzo is revered as the godfather of surfing in New Jersey ever since he garnered internationl fame by qualifying for the World Championship Tour more than 15 years ago. Unfortunately, Dean was diagnosed with cancer more than a decade ago and has since battled the disease 4 times. As a testament to Dean's determination and strength he started the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness and money to help fund research and outreach programs to help others with the disease. The DRCF has organize the "Surf for a Cause" surf competition, as well as the "Golf for a Cause", "Paddle for a Cause", and "Freeze for a Cause" events - all of which have been immensely successful with huge turnouts and overall support from the community. Dean truly is an inspiring person.
